OBSTETRICAL HOSPITAL
ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED SOCIETY’S SATISFACTION. ( Per Press Association ). AUCKLAND. June 26. Satisfaction with the completion of arrangements for the erection of an obstetric hospital in connection with the medical school at Otago University, was expresed in a telegram sent to-day to the Minister of Health, Hon. J. A. Young, by the president of the New Zealand Obstetric Society, Dr. Tracy Inglis. The message was sent on behalf of the society and various organisations which assisted in collecting the fund to establish the chair of obstetrics at Otago University. 41 We look forward with confidence to the speedy erection of the hospital, for we feel sure it will result in increased efficiency in the training of medical students in the important study of obstetrics, and so bring about a .further lowering of maternal mortality in Now Zealand,” the telegram stated.
