BOMB FOR GANDHI

WRONG CAR SELECTED BYSTANDERS INJURED INCIDENT AT POONA ORTHODOX HINDUS BLAMED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received Juno 26, 8.42 p.m. CALCUTTA, June 26. Seven persons, including high municipal officers, and several children, were injured at Poona last night when a bomb, intended for Mr. Gandhi, fell among a crowd which had assembled to witness his arrival at the municipal buildings to receive a civic address. The bomb was flung from a balcony when a cur, presumed to be Air. Gandhi’s, stopped. One wheel was blown off. Police surrounded the building and arrested five. Mr. Gandhi arrived seven minutes later, but was not informed of the incident till he entered the hall. He left later for Ahmedabad. It is presumed that the crime was the work of orthodox Hindus, who are bitterly opposed to Air. Gandhi’s social campaign.
