RAID ON VILLAGE

' NEW GUINEA HEADHUNTERS. ACTION BY POLICE. CANBERRA, June 23. An investigation of a raid by natives on the village of Mogomotei, in the Spick River district of New Guinea, early in the year, revealed that a man, three women, and two children had been killed and decapitated, according to the official report received by the Prime Minister’s Department. A patrol officer arrested tribesmen alleged to have been responsible for the murders. One native was wounded and died. The other natives reluctantly handed over the heads of the murdered persons.
