OBITUARY

MR A E. GARNER The death has occurred at Kaitoke of Air A. E. Garner, aged 44 years. The late Mr Garner lived at Kaitoke all his life, and was a successful farmer. He came of two of the oldestsettled families in the neighbourhood, and was a leading figure in the community in whi'ch he lived- In his younger days he was a territorial, and later became a well-known figure in the social -ife of the district. He occupied the position of chairman of the Kaitoke School Committee and he was also president of the Kaitoke Tennis Club and a member of the Kaitoke Hall Committee. The late Air Garner had •been suffering from bad health for some time before his death. He leaves a widow and two sons, Mr Howard Garner and Air Robbie Garner. Mrs T. G. Garner, Mrs A. Lynch and Miss A. Ga r ner are sisters.
