HIGH LIMITS IN LONDON. THE GERMAN EMBARGO. Received May 8, 5.15 p.m. LONDON, May 7. Offerings at the May London series of wool sales to-day were 6686 bales, including 2302 bales New Zealand. About 2720 bales were sold. Quieter market conditions prevail, with numerous withdrawals on sellers’ high limits. Those lines that were sold realised steady rates. Realisations included:—New Zealand, greasy Merino, 1 ‘ Brancott,” 19(1 highest, 18|d average; scoured Merinos, “Braemar,” 33d highest, 32*d average. Bradford tops market quotations are a shade easier owing to the extension of the German embargo on wool imports. Latest Bradford tops quotations were as follows: —

Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated April 7: —“The auctions continue fairly animated at the level of the opening day, with the exception of slipe halfbred rams, which are id to 2d cheaper. The following are current: Merino: Super, 19U1 to 21d per lb.; average, 16L1 to 17Jd. Fine halfbred: Super, 56-58, 18|d to 20d; average, 16d to 17d. Medium halfbred: Super, 5056’s, 13jd to 14$d; average, lid to 12d. Extra fine crossbred: Super 45-50’s, 9Ad to lOJd; average, B}d to BJd. Fine crossbred: Super. 46-48’s, BAd to 9Ad; average, 7|d to 8(1. Medium crossbred: Super, 44-46’s, 8d to Bsd; average, 7|d to Coarse crossbred: 4O44’s, 7Jd to B|d; average, 6Jd to 7|d.
