HOBART CONSULTATION
LUCKY NEW ZFALANDERS. I Pei- Press Association. I AUCKLAND, May 7. Advice was received to-day that New Zealand subscribers had won the fourth and seventh prizes on the consultation of £12,000 drawn in Hobart, Tasmania, under Government supervision. The winner of the fourth prize, which amounts to £lOOO, was the ticket number 132,130, held by W. E. A. Geddelbahr, Martinborougli, and the seventh prize of £250, Ticket number 29,957, held by the “Full Crop Syndicate,” care of Airs. N. N. Tahunanui, Nelson. The winner of the fourth prize of £lOOO is believed to be Air. W. E. Arcus, a farmer living about 15 miles from Alartinborough, in the Wairarapa district. Mr. Arcus’ farm is named “Geddelbahr,” after the spot in Gallipoli where he was wounded during the war. He has not yet received his ticket, so the number cannot be confirmed, but as be invested in the lottery under the name of “W. E. A. Gcddelbahr, Marlinborough," he is practically certain to be the winner of the prize. Air. Arcus is married and has fi\e children. He is engaged in sheep farming and has 700 acres of land. When informed of his good fortune by telephone, Air. Arcus said he had not formed any definite plans as to what he would do with the money, as he had never really expected to win a prize. The news had come as a complete surprise, but he had no doubt the money would very useful on the farm. This was the first occasion on which he bad invested in a lottery for several years.
