TESTS FOR AUTOGIRO

CLOSED-CABIN TYPE CARRIES FIVE PERSONS LONDON, April 25. The first multi-seated closed-cabin autogiro, carrying five persons, including the pilot, will be tested next month by the Air Ministry. It is of 550 horsepower, and has a speed of 120 miles an hour. The controls are centred, and the machine has a “hanging joystick” connected with rotovanes, which operate all movements, eliminating the ailerons and the elevators of the rudder. If the test is successful the machine will be exhibited at the Air Force pageant in June.
