GENERAL NEWS. On Tuesday evening the Maori Tennis Club will hold a dance and euchre party in the Town Hall. Larkin’s orchestra will supply the music, and a first-class supper will be provided. To-day’s sports fixtures: —At Bulls: Toko-Stanway and Bulls Rugby seniors on Bulls Domain; Flock House aud Hunterville Rugby thirds, at Flock House; an eclectic match on the Rangitikei golf links. At Ohakea: Ohakea and Kongotea Rugby seniors; Ohakea and Carnarvon ladies’ hockey match. At Marton: Bulls and Old Boys Rugby thirds. At Sanson: Ohakea and Sanson Rugby thirds. “42nd Street” will be screened at Bulls Town Hall this evening. This bright parade of Broadway favourites makes merry with dance and song, and a vein of drama keeps the interest going. The supports arc good, and the programme as a whole, one of the best. Bulls thirds to play Old Boys to day have been elected as follows:—Ellery (5), Langdon (2), Torrey, Haycock, Bromley, Prichard, Hart, Stokes, Cole and Toms. Bus leaves Bulls at 12.30.
MOTORS COLLIDE • Shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday a collision occurred at the intersection of Bridge and High Streets between a light Ford car driven by Miss Browning. of Ingestre Street, Wanganui, and one of Hill Bros.’ lorries. The light car had its bumper displaced, but the body was only slightly damaged. Fortunately Miss Browning and her lady companion were unhurt. SCHOOL PARTY The first of a series of Bulls School euchre parties was held in the Town Hall supper room on Thursday evening, and although the weather was wet and stormy, there was a good attendance of twelve tables, including visitors from Parewanui. The most successful card players were Mrs. XV. Dean and Mr. L. Capstick. A splendid supper and a short dance completed the function.
