NEW SCHOOL ERECTED

HISTORICAL BUILDING REPLACED WHENUAKURA ’S SCHOOLHOUSE. The small school building which tho settlers of the Whenuakura district erected nearly 60 years ago, has been pulled down to make way for the new school which is being officially opened next Monday by the chairman of tire Wanganui Education Board, Mr. F. F. Hemingway. Many of the first pupils of the school still reside in the district. The late Mr. Weiss was thc first schoolmaster, in the early ’seventies, and he resided in Auckland until last year, when he died.
