Messrs. lan Dickson and W. Hamilton have returned from the Auckland district, where they were successful in winning several running events. CROQUET. The closing of the Croquet Club was held yesterday in ideal weather. After the completion of the afternoon’s games. Mrs. J. Phillips (president) presented* the trophies won during the season. The rose bowl presented by Mrs. D. Watkins was won by Mr. Burgin, run-ner-up being Mrs. L. Bailey. Saturday Matches. — Mrs. M. Sutherland (silver button); runner-up, Mrs. L. Mahoney. Wednesday Matches (silver button). —Mrs. D. Watkins; runner-up. Mrs. A. Bailey and Mrs. G. Salt (tied). Mrs. Phillips, in a neat speech, thanked all the members who had assisted her to make the season the success it has been, especially to Mrs. M. Sutherland who has capably carried out the duties of secretary. A dainty afternoon tea was served by th la dies.
