DRUIDS’ HALL.
The even temperate weather conditions of the last week or two, coupled with regard to every requirement of followers of the terpsichorean art, induced a large number of patrons to engage in what has become an all-the-year-round pastime, and it is little to be wondered at that the Palais de Danse presents such a brilliant scene of popularity and gaiety every Saturday night, when it continues its series of popular winter-time dancing. Oldtime and modern dances were indulged in from <8 p.m. till 12 midnight. Coloured lights and gay streamers hanging in a blaze of festoons above the dancers’ heads, together with music of a high order, supplied by the Gaiety Dance Band, under Mrs. Kendall’s direction, gave the hall a delightful appearance. All present engaged in the merry whirl to woo Dame Fortune’s favour, and the lucky recipients (Miss Hall and Mr. Hall, and Mrs. Holden and Mr. Wadsworth) were heartily applauded by those less fortunate. l\Fr. Bert Gilroy, as usual fulfilled the duties of M.C. in his inimitable manner and brought a highly successful function 1o a happy termination as the midnight hour was reached.
