Speaking to-day, the. Mayor (Mr. W. * J. Moffatt) said that ho was entirely 0 in agreement with the reasons given s ny Mr. Geo. Page for his resignation v of the chairmanship of the local J Unemployment Committee, which was the unfair treatment of the smaller “ centres by the board and the feeling that local committees were becoming merely a buffer between the board and the workers.
