LOVE FOR MOTHER
MADE HIM STOW AWAY. LONDON, April 6. Frederick Hopkins was remanded for a week for stowing away on the Moldavia at Fremantle. He pleaded, “It was a son’s love for his mother that made mo do it. It was the only way of reaching mother, who is sick.” The prosecution said it had been intended to put Hopkins ashore at Colombo, but he disappeared and left a note in his cabin suggesting that he had' committed suicide, but was seen walking the deck nt Port Said.
