MANAWATU MEETING SATURDAY’S RESULTS. PAUL DRUSUS WINS CUP. [ Per Press Association. ] PALMERSTON N., April 7. The Manawatu Trotting Club meeting was held in deal weather conditions to-day before a big attendance. The Awapuni track was in good order. The tote handled £6335 10s, against £4393 10s. Harold Logan’s appearance was appreciated and the champion, taken along by Nelson’s Chum, paced the | mile in 2.11 without being extended. Results were:— Awapuni Handicap.—4 Blue Blood liW A. The winner led all the way and was never threatened. Bell Heathei continually broke and Ohinemutu broke near the post or he would have been third. Bracelet.—2 Guy Zoloek (C. Tasman Flight and Hod Huia led at the end of a mile lat the latter broke and Tasman Flight established a good lead, showing the way to the straight ahead of Arapai, Red Huia and Blue Boy. The leader stopped fast but was still in front at the post, though galloping. The stewards decided not to alter the placings. Dash Handicap.—l Lislca (Smith) 1, 4 Belinda King (Popo) 2, 3 Oro’c Pride (Donald) 3. Aho: 2 Peter’s Fault, 5 Storm Queen, 6 Arthur Chimes. Length and a-half; six lengths. Time, 2.17. Lislea went to tho front at the half-mile and won well from the fast-finishing Belinda King. President’s Handicap. •—2 Paul Drusus (Bryce) 1, 3 Smoke Screen (Edwards) 2, 1 Guymond (Berkett) 3. Also: 4 Daddy Longlegs, 5 Lady Author, 6 Highland Derby, 7 Teri Kingi, 8 Special Sun. Length and ahalf; half a length. Time, 2.50. Highland Derby led to the straight and in a close finish Pau! Drusus got up to win nicely, Smoko Screen cutting Guymond out of second place.
