CONTROLLING PRODUCTION (Times Cable). Received April 6, 9.5 pan. ROME, April 6. The international wheat committee has opened its sessions, and is seeking an agreement to raise the price by reducing exports or not selling abroad below a predetermined price. The discussions are at present devoted to the progress of implementing the wheat agreement and reporting on tho crop situation. The American carryover will probably amount to 100,000,000 bushels. The Australian wheat area will probably be reduced. Argentina is not restricting cultivation, Canada is 15 per cent, lower, Russia is substituting wheat for rye, and Germany has slightly reduced her area. Britain’s increase in area of six per cent, sown will lead to a pro rata reduction of subsidy.
