"QUEEN MADGE" MAKES APPEAR TO CO-ITES UP-RIVER.
Dear Wendy,—Well, L hope you are keeping quite well as 1 am at present. It is quite a while now since 1 last wrote to you, but 1 have been reading, the Hut page each week, hoping to sec some of the Wanganui Diver lies’ letters in print, but no such luck. 1 used to like reading the Up-river ites' letters, but it is only now and again 1 see them in print. 1 think they must have ail arranged to stop writing for a few months. When they decide to start again 1 suppose we will get plenty to read all at once. There is “Duplicate Duke.” “Duplicate Duke’s Sweetheart,” “Another Up-river lie,” “Pleasant Jim,” “Bex 01. the Hill Country” and many more 1 can’t quite remember, not forgetting our Ite “Flashing Thunder,” so now, dear Ites, since you see your names printed perhaps you will remember you once belonged to the Wendy Hut. 1 must not forget another long-lost Ite, “Lady ,‘dable,” so don’t forget to write a letter next week so that we can read them, don’t you think so, Wendy? livery one seems Io be inquiring after them, and we do miss them, too. Well,' Wendy, time is quickly passing, so 1 'will say cheerio for another four or I live months. Love.—From “QUEENMADGE,” C.W.K., Wendyline. Lately, there have been very few letters from our up-river (dan, and J am I .just wondering what can have happened to them all. Never mind, 1 ex-; ' pert we shall have them trooping in when we least, expect them. It would be jolly, wouldn’t it? Write again' soon now, won't you ■’ Wendy.
