KIRK-WINDEYER CUP CONTEST COMMENCES TO-DAY [ Per Press Association. J AUCKLAND, April 5. Golf supremacy between New Zealand and New South Wales (the holder), will be decided in the KirkWindeyer Cup contest, beginning tomorrow o:i the Auckland Golf Club s course at Middlemore. Foursomes will be played in the morning and the afternoon over 36 holes match play. Four singles will be decided on Saturday. It will be the first occasion the contest has boon held in Auckland. It. is arousing considerable interest. The links are in splendid order, especially the greens. The rival captains have not yet made any announcement with regard to the lespective teams for tomorrow’s matches. It is thought likely W. R, Dobson and I'. H. Hughes (New South Wales), will oppose T. H. Horton and B. V. Wright in the first foursome and E. L. Appcrlcy and C. C. Runwald (New South Wales), will play B. M. Silk and J. P. Hornabrook in the second match. The foams for the singles will be chosen after the results of to-morrow's matches.
