The Chancellor of the Exchequerand tho Minister of Agriculture have appointed a committee to make a comprehensive inquiry into the condition of the sugar industry iu the United Kingdom, including both home-grown beet sugar and imported sugar, and having in mind the changes in the structure of the industry, which would follow upon a re-organisation under lhe Agricultural Marketing Acts, and to make recommendations for the structure and conduct, and in particuI lar, as to .*0 application of State ’’ aid as far a* this is considered neccsII sary. n The committee consists of Mr. Wilfred Greene, King’s Counsel (chairJ man). Sir Kenneth Lee and Mr. Cyril Lloyd.
