STOCK MARKETS
THE MARTON SALE. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co.op Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding of 1200 sheep, 50 cattle, and 35 pigs at their fortnightly sale which was held on Wednesday, instead of the usual Tuesday fixture. The sheep entry comprised principally lambs. There was nothing of outstanding suality, being principally good, medium and forward sorts. These were practically all disposed of at prices which were firm on previous sales. The pigs were in short supply and the market showed a slight improvement on previous sales. The cattle entry comprised principally fat cows x dairy sorts and wcancr heifers. Wc quote our principal sales as follows: Forward wether lambs 16s to 16s 8d; medium ditto 14s 3d to 14s 6d; smaller ditto 10s 9d to Ils 8d: forward black faced lambs 16s; ewe lambs 17s to 18s 7d; 2-tooth wethers 21s 4d; S.D. rams 2gns.; Rom. rams 10s 6d. Fat cows ex dairy’£2 15s to £2 19s. £3 5s to £3 9s; lighter sorts £2 5s to £2 12s 6d.; Jersey weaner heifers 18s to 30s. Best wcancr pigs Ils to 12s; smaller sorts 9s; slips to 18s 6<l.
