ENGLAND'S TEST TEAM
CRICKETERS WANTED JARDINE’S FLAT REFUSAL FAST BOWLEBS SOUGHT (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrighty .Received April 1, 7.5 p.in. LONDON, March 31. “Wanted —about half a dozen new players for England for the Tests,’’ says the Daily Express, reviewing the position as regards Jardine, Allen, Ames and others. “It will be remarkable if Larwood is able to pull out the pace and accuracy which made him a terror in Australia, butclill'e is another query. It is possible that Clark will be England’s chief fast bowler. It is practically certain that Walters will be one of the opening batsmen. Other new players likely are B. H. Valdttine and W. H. Levet.t. The Evening Standard says that Jardine cabled from India: “I have neither the intention nor the desire to play cricket against, Australia this summer.” The Evening News says that Jardine’s decision was practically made prior to leaving England but he had not told Marylcbone officially until his latest letter. Marylebone, out of courtesy to Jardine, did not publish the letter. It now can bo stated that, he is not available.
