MACHINES WILL BE CHEAP LATEST DEMONSTRATION LONDON, Feb. 8. The Daily Express says that the Institute of Electrical Engineers, in the presence of scientists and wireless experts, demonstrated a complete televised programme from a talkie film. It is believed that when the mass production stage has been reached the apparatus will be no dearer than a high-class gramophone, giving in the people’s homes televised broadcasts of talkies, cricket, football, lawn tennis, racing and social events. 4
