Playing against Tasmania, Victoria (first innings 68), in their second strike made 560 for six wickets, declared (Lee 258, Quin 210). Tasmania (first 388) in their second, innings lost six for 163 (Badcock 40, Trcmbath 0 for 20). The match was drawn. Quin and Lee established an Australian fourth-wicket partnership of 424 runs, the previous best being 315.
