WANGANUI ASSOCIATION RESIDENTIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Intending competitors are reminded that entries close to-day for the Wanganui residential championships. Entries must be made in writing and on no account will they be accepted by telephone. The draw will be made on Monday, and if possible the first round matches should be played before next Saturday, on which day all players will require to be present in order that progress can be made in the different events. JOHN’S CLUB TEAM TO PLAY WAVERI.EY The following will represent St. John’s Tennis Club against Waverley on St. John’s courts at 1.30 p.m. to morrow: Lampe (capt.), Udy, Marshall, Jenkins, Finlayson, Millen. Brighton, Fennell; Miss I. Duncan, Miss Margaret Purcell, Mrs. Newton, Misses Piper, Bassett-Smith, Gillies, Godfrey, Stansfield. Any member unable to play is requested to communicate with Mr. R Sincock, care Tourist Department. DAVIS CUP TEAM AUSTRALIAN COUNCIL HOPMAN AND MISS HARTIGAN SYDNEY, Feb. 9. The council of the Lawn Tennis Association has decided not to send Hopman with the Davis Cup team. The council decided to contribute £lOO towards the expenses of sending Miss Joan Hartigan to Wimbledon.
