SHOOTING ACCIDENT

FARM HAND IN HOSPITAL (Per Pro»s Association) MABTEBTON, Feb. 6. An unusual shooting accident occurred at Otaraia Station, about eight miles from Martinborough, this evening, as result of which Ezear Webb, a faun hand, 26 years of age, was admitted to hospital with an injury and in a serious condition. Lt appears that another station employee, William Busch, left a pearifle he was cleaning outside the house for a few minutes, and that in his absence a 10-year-old boy picked up the rifle, which went off. The bullet entered the stomach of Webb, who was standing close by. The injured man, whose parents reside in Wellington, was immediately conveyed to Featherston Hospital, where an operation will be necessary.
