MOUNTAIN VILLAGE HOUSES THE DISASTER IN ITALY. Received Feb. 6, 6.5 p.m. AJACCIO, Feb. 5. An avalanche at night time crashed on ten houses in the mountain village of the Ortiporio, killing 39 sleeping inhabitants. A snowstorm destroyed the means of communication but the authorities despatched skiers to succour the survivors.
