DELAY AT WASHINGTON. NEW YORK, Jan. 26. Air. Gordon Coulter, director of Stephen King, Alclbourne, who has been surveying the possibility of Australian wine anu spirits trade in America, informed the Australian Press Association that he is returning immediately, due to tho seemingly interminable delay by the Administration at Washington in granting Aus tralia an import quota. He expressed regret and disappointment that Australia had no opportunity to do business while French and Italian goods were flooding the market. Air. Coulter said that dealers and hotels were favourably impressed by samples of Australian liquors, and were eager to place orders if a quota were available. “Each day that quota is delayed it places Australia at a great disadvantage in a market that presents enormous opportunity for winos and spirits.
