DRIVER'S PAINFUL EXPERIENCE r r*r rre*s .•..’■Normtion. 1 STRATFORD, Dec. 22. After skidding on a corner on tho mud road between Tahora and Tangarakau at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday, a truck driven by Mr. Desmond Hight, aged 22. of Tangarakau -upsized off the road and fell on a fence, pinning Mr. Hight between the lorry and the fence. Mr. Hight was forcer! across the fence and endured untold pain foe 9i hours in tho heavy rain till h 0 was found at 7 a.m. yesterday. Only a few chains away were a house and a hut full of workmen, but Mr. Hight’s cries for help were not heard. No traffie passed in the interim. In addition to the weight of the truck he had t.< breathe tho fumes of the petrol leaking from the tank, and with the truck above and the fence wtres below cutting into his body, throat, and fneO his experience was unenviable. Mr. Hight is now in the Stratford Hospital
