SCHOOL PICNIC The annual picnic in connection with the school break-up was held on Wednesday. The children were conveyed by motor-bus to the Palmerston North Esplanade, th G trip being much enjoyed. About Ji hours were spent at the esplanade with games, spores, etc., when a move was made for the town for ulnch. This was done full justice to and a visit paid to the pictures. After th G pictures a walk through the garden squares and a tired but happy band returned home. Arriving at Sanson, Air. E. J. Bowater (chairman of the committee), presented the prizes won for the butterfly catching competition. Pearl Aleyer was given a handsome sewing case and Eric Livingston received a camera. Three hearty cheers were accorded Aliss Oppatt for donation of lollies and a similar compliment to the chairman ended tne gathering. WELCOME RAIN The recent showers have been welcomed by one and all. The water supply in the township was getting very low and the pastures will benefit considerably. CHRISTMAS GREETINGS Greetings for a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Yeai are extended to “Chronicle” readers.
