MAGISTRATE’S COURT. At the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday before Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., judgment by default was given for the plaintiff in the following cases:—Webb’s Motors. Weedon, claim £6 Is lOd and costs; Commissioner of Taxes v. W. E. Waldegrave and F. McGrath as executors in the estate of D. Bates, claim £2 Ils 9d and costs; D. P. Scarfe v. Johnie te Huia, claim balance £2 16s 9d and costs; Dr. W. J. Feltham v. J. F. Russell, balance of claim £4 17s and costs; Webb’s Motors Ltd., v. 8. Morris, claim £3 and costs; W. H. Wilson v. H. O. Pederson, claim £4 18s and costs; Nellie Petersen v. Joe Kaes, claim £2 Is lOd and costs. Judgment Summons. F rank R. Fredericksen was ordered to pay D. P. Scarfe the sum of £4 6s, in default five days, the warrant to be suspended as long as he pays 10s per month. Motor Regulations. Erie tDauphin pleaded guilty to driving a motor-lorry in Seddon Street without having a motor-driver’s license and was fined 20s and costs. Lionel List pleaded guilty to operating a motor-lorry carrying a greater load than the maximum it was allowed to under its license. Inspector Wilson said the lorry was licensed ai 4| ton and had 4 ton‘l7swt on board. A fine of 30s and costs was imposed. George Anderson and Son, Ltd., pleaded guilty to having a motor in respect of which a heavy traffic license had not been taken out. Mr. Ritchie explained that Mr. Anderson usually took two trips with skim milk but one day he was away and the man who was driving made one trip and put all the milk on at once. A fine of 15s and cQSts was imposed. SCHOOL SPORTS. Before the public schools of the district broke up for the holidays a combined district schools sports meeting was held at Raetihi. Ten schools took part and the results are as follows: Boys’ Senior Championship: R. Workman (Mangaturoa) 1, H. Toto (Raetihi) 2, J. Sullivan (Horopito) 3. Girls’ Senior Championship: D. Parker (Raetihi) 1, P. Taiaroa (Raetihi) 2, B. Murphy (Horopito) 3. Boys’ Intermediate Championship: P. Sullivan (Horopito) 1, J. Andrews (Umumuru) 2, N. Weymouth 3. Girls’ Intermediate Championship: A. Robertson (Pipiriki) 1, N. Haddock (Horopito) 2, R. Laloli (Raetihi) 3. Boys’ Junior Championship: P. O, (Orautoha) 1, D. Lynch (Raetihi) 2, B. Crump (Umumuru) 3. Girls’ Junior Championship: J. West (Raetihi) 1, N. Petersen (Horopito) 2, P. Waters and B. Fowler 3.
