ALL-NIGHT SITTING
NEWFOUNDLAND BILL HOUSE OF COMMONS DEBATE LONDON, Dec. 15. The House of Commons sat through, the night, discussing the Newfoundland Bill. Mr. Maxton (Labour) moved an amendment that the revocation of the present Administration of Newfoundland should be subject to the approval of the Dominions. The Dominions Secretary (Mr. J. H. Thomas), said: “It is not the Government’s duty to consult the Dominions on a matter purely between Newfoundland and this country.” The amendment was negatived by 208 votes to 38. Th e Government frequently used the closure in Committee. The Committee stage concluded at 8.35 a.m. The House then considered financial • resolutions on the Unemployment Bill. It is still 'sitting.
