FLOODS IN VICTORIA
TWO CHILDREN DROWNED LARGE AREAS UNDER WATER. By Telegraph—Press Assoc'-lion—Copyright) AIELBO URN E, Dec. 4. The terrific storm which raged in Victoria for several days abated at the week-end. The Avoco River al, Charlton overflow er its banks causing the worst flood since .1909. The main street is three loot under water and the shops arc inundated. Alany homes in the surrounding districts were flooded and the occupants forced Io leave. Two fatalities are reported. Alabe* Yean, aged 15, was drowned in Gipps land when a bridge on which she was standing was swept away. Frank Durbridge, aged 12, was drowned in an at tempt to rescue another boy. Large areas of wheat and tobacco growing country have been laid waste.
