Mrs. V. A. Mcllveen, Taupaki, has been visiting Wanganui. Miss K. Browne and Miss D. C. Browne, Clevedon, are visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon J. Reid, of Wellington, were recent visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Jacobs, of Auckland, were in Wanganui during the week-end. Mrs. J. S. McCormick is an Auckland visitor to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Barrett, Welling ton. were in Wanganui during the weekend. .Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Harbord, Lower Hutt, spent the week-end in Wanganui. Miss Doris Stringfellow, of Greytown, is visiting Wanganui. I Mr. and Mrs. L. Johnson, of Wellington, were week end visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Hickmott, of Sumner, are visiting Wanganui. Mrs. Ellis Carde, Upper Aramoho, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Leach, Featherston.
Mrs. Wclhvood, who has been visiting her mother, Airs. I'. Myeis, Alt. View Bond, returned at the week-end to her home in the Wairarapa district Aliss June Sumerell journeyed by air plane to New Plymouth early yesterday morning to be present at the reception to the traiistasman fliers. Afany of Airs. Alaudo Sherwood’s New Zealand friends will hear with interest that she has returned to Australia. She has spent a considerable time in the less-accessible parts of Italy, and tells of her difficulties in the way of getting food that she could eat and enjoy. She was at times reduced to an exclusive diet of boiled eggs. The subjects for painting in Italy, both scenery and people, are themes of enthusiasm on the part of the artist. It is notable that she makes no mention of Fascism or Fascists!
