THE LONDON MARKETS DEMAND FOR LAMB BETTER. Lamb Market: Demand has improved with better tone in the market. Stocks of old season’s lamb getting into short compass. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes very firm with better prices. Beef market: Slightly better demand owing to improvement in prices of Argentine chilled beef. N.Z. porker pigs: Meeting with steady trade with improved prices. N.Z. baconer pigs: Market quiet with trade slow. —The above report was received by cable by the N.Z. Meat Producers’ Board from its London office, dated December, which advises that the following arc the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores.
