Meteorological Office, Wellington, Sunday, December 3, 4 p.m. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone still covers the Tasman Sea ami Xew Zealand. A shallow westerly depression, however, is passing Tasmania, and apparently is the first of a series. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to fresh, south to south-east, decreasing gradually and turning northerly later south of Cape Eginont and Castle point. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough on parts of the East coast of the North Island, but decreasing; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Slight to moderate south-easterly winds, backing gradually to northerlies; seas smooth to moderate. Weather: An isolated shower or two at first on the east coast of the North Island, otherwise fine. Temperatures warmer. 'The New Zealand Friends’ School. Sr. John's Hill, report for 24 hour.; ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine 12 hours. Rainfall, nil. Shade temperatures: Maximum 67 deg. Fahr.; minimum 46 deg. Fahr.
