WANGANUI CENTRE NIXON CUP MATCHES. I RESULTS UN SATURDAY. The local clubs were engaged in Nixon Cup matches on Saturday. The greens were naturally fairly heavy after the rain early in the morning, but players were lucky to get their games after the unpromising outlook earlier in the day, with a strong breeze the only handicap. Later in the afternoon the 1932-33 B Pairs final, postponed owing to bad weather and illness, was played, the winners being C. S. Brown and W. Bourne, who defeated Lattimore and Stringer. Up to the 16th head the game was very even, each pair taking the lead in turn. St. John’s were visitors to the Gonvillc green on Saturday to play Nixon Cup games. The green was on the heavy side after the rain, and the wind interfered considerably with the bowling. WANGANUI EAST CLUB On Saturday the third round in the Nixon Cup contest was played by the Wanganui East Club. In the Wanga-nui-Wanganui East section each played ten rinks, five at home and five away.
