PLAZA—“Sleeping Car,” commencing to-day and to-night, features that English idol of the screen, Ivor Novello. Next Wednesday James Cagney and Ralph Bellamy appear in ‘‘Picture Snatcher.” The attraction for next Saturday is “Baroud,” a story iof the Foreign Legion. Coming attractions are ‘ The Good Companions.” “The Working Man” and “Kiss Me Again.” DUCHESS— Now showing is ‘‘Shop Angel,” with Marion Shilling. Next Wednesday there comes “The Cabin in the Cotton,” to be followed on Friday and Saturday next with Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell in ‘‘Tess of the Storm Country.” MAJESTIC— The present attraction is “International House,” rib-tickling comedy fare. Next Wednesday Lionel Barrymore and Miriam Hopkins in “The Stranger’s Return.” John Boles will be hoard next Saturday in “My Lips Betray.” GLOBE— Now showing, “The Kiss Before the Mirror,” with Nancy Carroll. Next Wednesday “To-night's the Night,” with Leslie Fuller, to be followed next Saturday by Kay Francis in ‘‘The Street of Women.” REGENT— On the present programme is “That’s My Wife,” with Claude Allister, Frank Pettingell and Betty Astell. Next Wednesday there will be “The Little Damozel,” with Anna Neagle and James Rennie starred. This will be followed on Saturday by ‘‘Hindle Wakes,” with Dame Sybil Thorndike starred.
