SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNEY RANGITIKEI DEFEAT HUTT In the second round of the quadrangular schools’ tournament at Levin on Monday, Rangitikei 9, defeated Hutt 3, while Taranaki and. Hutt kicked off against the wind on heavy ground after rain. Hutt again attacked, but Hey got offside and Rangitikei cleared to halfway. McCaul and AkLean played solid football for Rangitikei. Alarshall received from a grubber kick and dodged his way downfield, then gaming 40 yards with a good kick. Bcbau made many good efforts but tho defence hold. The game ended with no further score—Rangitikei 9, Hutt \ alley 3. On the day’s play. Rangitikei were the better side, though the Hutt forwards looked like dribbling across on several occasions in the second half. After the first ten minutes, steady rain fell throughout tho game. The Rangitikei boys arc having a royal time in Levin and on Sunday afternoon, with the boys, were taken for a motor trip to Otaki, where the To Raupnraka monument and Alaori ChuiVh were inspected, Mr Tahuri explaining points of interest. Position of Teams. Up to the present Horowhenua. and Taranaki are leading with one win and one draw modi. Rangitikei have had one win ami one loss, while Hutt. Valley have lost two games.
