Consequently, the police demand that :• man or a woman shall wear at least something, however slight, to cover their nakedness in the centres of popuhit ion. This has disturbed the Digambara sect, as it runs counter to their re ligious beliefs, which favour a state of nature. An order by the Hyderabad Government that they must cease beg ging in tho Hyderabad streets while naked, brought fmih the retort that the leader of tho, sect will begin a fast of protest and literally tear the hair out of his head as a penance, in accord mice with the law regulating the com j11»1 ii i i \‘.
