WOMAN’S DEATH

CAPSIZE OF MOTOR-CAR VEHICLE DRIVEN BY FRIENP | Per Preas Assotiatios. 1 DUNEDIN. Aug’. 4. As a result of a motor-car in which she was riding capsizing in Garfield Avenue, Roslyn, this afternoon, a single woman aged 33 years, Ivy May Davidson Perriam, received injuries to her head which caused her death in hospital later in the day. Deceased, who resided at Mosgiel, was travelling in her own car, which wa« being driven by a friend, Robert Barker, a miner, of Mosgiel. Ho turned the car into Garfield Avenue, which is a very steep street, but decensed tnld him that that was the wrong street, and he stopped tho car. intending to back out again into Highgate. The wheels, however, were on a greasy natch and the car slid forward, going partly up a steep bank and capsizing downhill. The driver escaped unhurt, but Miss Perriam received serious injuries about the head. Sb© was removed to hospital anil died at 4.50 p.m.
