SATISFACTaRY YEAR PASSED. A GOOD PAY-OUT MADE. Despite the low prices received for cheese output during the year, the company was able to show a pay-out which was amongst the highest On the West Coast of the North Island, said Mr. B. Dawes, chairman of directors of the Westmere Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., when tho 18th annual general meeting was held on Thursday at Westmere. The balance-sheet disclosed that the company was in a very sound condition. Fixed assets have been depreciated in accordance with tho custom of past years. The consignments afloat and unsold were valued on a conservative basis and would no doubt show a further surplus. The paid-up capital stood at £4177 and tho reserve account at £2680. Tho factory output of cheese for tho season just closed was 369 tons, an increase of 72 tons as compared with last year. The average advance payment made to suppliers throughout the season was S.l7d per lb. butter-fat. The meeting adopted the directors’ recommendation that a further' payment be made to suppliers, making a total to date of 9jd per lb. ‘•lt is anticipated that when all the consignments arc sold there will be a further surplus available for distribution, which will bring 1 lie return to the suppliers up to a. very satisfactory figure,” said Mr. Dawes.
