RAILWAY ACCIDENT
NEGLIGENCE FOUND. INSPECTION OF CATCH POINTS. SYDNEY, July 29. Tho finding of the Railway Board inquiry into the Albury mail accident at Bowning is to the effect that the accident was due to ,the breaking of a switch rail in tho catch points, while tho locomotive was passing over it. The negligence of the inspecting engineer, the resident ngineer, and the sub-inspector in carrying out an examination of the catch points made those officers equally responsible with the ganger for the accident. All four persons will be “suitably dealt with.”
