COMMUNITY SING

The Wanganui Savage Club are to be commended for the enthusiasm they are showing in organising communitv singing in the city. Several wonderfully successful “sings” have already been held this season, hut the function which is advertised to be held on Wednesday next. August 3, will eclipse all former efforts. The Savage Club justly pride themselves in the Nigger Minstrel Troup which they have and for the first time this splendid combination will appear before the public of Wanganui and will help in no small way to provide an evening’s entertainment which must appeal to all. The singing will be under the leadership of Mrs. T. L. Sperring and the club’s own song leader “Scotty.” Mrs. Sperring is particularly well known to Wanganui audiences and her pleasing personality delights everybody. She is ably supported by.“Scotty,” whose breezy and comical way makes you want to laugh as you have never laughed before. In Alf. Ramsay the club is most fortunate in having an accompanist of outstanding ability. T o him falls the lot of maintaining th c continuity of the pro gramme and he handles his task with the ability of a master Box plans are nov open at Dobbs Bros, for thc “sing” and in view of the outstanding attractions which arc offered, a very heavy booking is asured. As usual the admission is free, but a very small i booking fee will assure you of a scat.
