J AUCKLAND, July 25. .a A charge of manslaughter against 2 George Alexander Rowson, 30, wareL houseman, formerly emn’oyed in the n New Zealand Drug Company, was 3 thrown out by the Grand J.ury iu the Supreme Court. The charge arose frum I, the death from strychnine poisoning of Charles Buddy after he had t .ken a. i. drug. s In bis charge to the Crand Jury, Mr Justice Herdman referred to the case as a curious one. A man (deceased) arranged with the Drug Company to be supplied with slippery elm bark, but unfortunately he was supplied instead with nux vomica, which was some sort of strychnine. The man took some of it with the result that he died. The allegation was that Rowson h d been , guilty of negligence in supplying this harm f u 1 d rug.
