CRIB EVENING. Tho Crib Club hold tho second of a series of increasingly popular parties on Tuesday evening, when a good number of players attended, there being about nine tables going. Competition for tiie prizes was keen, the ladies’ prize having to be played off between Mrs. Armstrong and Miss N. Lee, Mrs. Armstrong eventually winning by a very narrow margin. The men’s prize was won by Mr. R. Lethbridge with ten games, the number of games played being 12. Consolation prize-winners I proved to bo Airs W. Hurley and Mr. |P. Harting. A very dainty supper had been prepared by the ladies and was greatly enjoyed. Tho Gold Button is attracting a large number of challenges and games prove to be very exciting in most instances. Eleven games are played, the best six winning the button. FOOTBALL. The Waitotara junior team travelled to Ngutuwera on Wednesday and played the newly-formed Ngutuwera juniors, succeeding in winning by 22 points to 8. Tho margin of points is represented by the Ngutuwera team’s lack of experience, but next year they should weld into a fine team. The first spell saw hard-rucking forwards keeping the game tight with neither team showing any superiority ami tended to be of rather a scramble nature. From a loose scrum in Ngutn wera’s 25 H.
