NEW ZEALAND’S OPPORTUNITY. ( Per Press Association. I CHRISTCHURCH, July 12. The need for opening up. new markets in the East for New Zealand primary produce, was emphasised by Mr. D. W. Westenra at a meeting of the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day. He said that in view of Great Britain’s increased activity in primary productions, it was high tme that the Dominion awoke t-o the fact that it had to look for new markets. There was a population of 800,000,000 in the Eivst, and this included a large section which would buy New Zealand exports. It was decided to refer the question to the Meat Board.
