Dr. A. J. Mason, M.B. New Zealand, F.R.C.S. England, and M.C.H. Now Zealand, resident surgical officer at Dunedin Hospital, has been appointed medical superintendent at Ashburton Hospital. There wore 22 applicants, including two in England ami one in Mel bourne Guests registered at Spriggens’ Hotel include:—Messrs. A. A. Mattress. A. N. Smith, J. G George (Wellington); Mr. L. Watson (Christchurch); Mr. A. J. Young (Palmerston North); the Hon. Claude Cecil Bering (London); Miss Kathleen Rculin (Welling ton). Congratulations were extended last evening by Mr. I). McFarlane, on behalf of the Wanganui Automobile Association, to Dr. 11. 1). Robertson on his election as president of the Wanganui Rotary Club for the coming year. He said the association was very interested in the work the club was doing in connection with the unemployed. In thanking the president for his remarks. Dr. Robertson said that Rotary was endeavouring to do what it could in Wanganui and throughout the world to correct a lot of misrepresentation. It hoped the. public would bear with it in its objectives.
