REGENT THEATRE
“FAST LIFE” WITH WILL HAINES One hundred miles per hour speedboat racing, the world’s most thrilling sport, is shown in “Fast Life,” the breath-taking action picture featuring William Haines, whi‘ch is showing at the Regent Theatre. No effort has been spared to bring the roaring realism of boat racing to the screen. Bobby Howes, that elfin-like little star comedian, whose comicalities on the West End stage have rendered him famous far and wide, appears for the first time for 8.1. P. in “For the Love of Mike” at the Regent Theatre tomorrow. An adaptation of the successful stage play, the film gives Bobby, the star of both, even wider scope for his priceless fooling and joviality than did the play. Howes appeared on the variety stage at the age of fourteen as a Boy Scout, which may be considered as his “good deed for the day’’ inso-. far as it was instrumental in launching on a theatrical career one who has done much to lighten dull care. Considerable experience was gained touring variety theatres, and with concert parties.
