DR. SALTER'S ACCUSATION LABOUR PARTY DISCUSSION Received May 17, 9.5 p.m. LONDON, May 17. Labour parliamentarians discussed Dr. Salter’s speech regarding excessive drinking at Westminster. Dr. Salter declared that, he was ready to enter details if the party desired. The matter was adjourned. The Sunday Express recently reported the Commoner Dr. A. Saltci (Lab.) as having said at a temperate meeting in Glasgow: “We have seen Labour members of Parliament in th< House of Commons drinking night alter night. We have seen anothei group, who go into the smoking room and £.oak all the evening until they are stupid. We have seen Labour Cabinet Ministers go into the House of Commons in a condition in which they could hardly stand.” It is recalled that Dr. Salter was censured by the House of Commons in 1926 for' staling that ho had seen many mem bers drunk in the House of Commons.
