SAILING CLUB FORMED
A PROVINCIAL COMMITTEE. At a well attended meeting of enthusiasts held last evening it was decided to form a Wanganui Sailing Club, to promote sailing of all classes of boats on the river. A provisional commitee was set up, consisting of Dr. Topham, A. Denny, H. Edmondson, H. V. Rowe, G. Pepper, and D. Marshall (honorary secretary, pro. tern.). The committee have been instructed to draw up proposed rules for the club, and to report on various matters of importance to a general meeting of members, which is to be held shortly. It was reported that a large number of boats are at present being constructed and will be ready by the end of the winter. It is the intention of the club to assist in every way any member who intends constructing a
boat, and as plans are available for boats which can be constructed at a cost within the roach of most pockets, however small, it is hoped that many more will soon be under way. All person interested are asked to watch this paper for the advertisement calling the next general meeting.
