AT BELMONT LINKS LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. THE PROVINCIAL TITLE. Steady progress was made yesterday with the Wanganui ladies’ provincial golf championship at the Belmont links, which were not seriously affected by several showers of rain. The semifinals have been reached and will be played this morning, the final being set down for this afternoon at 1.15 p.m. In the first round of the championship results were:— Miss Gaisford won from Mrs. Thomson. Mrs. Russell won from Miss Smart. Miss Currie won from Mrs. Goldsbury. Miss Grace won from Mrs. Williams by default. Mrs. Cook won from Miss C. Wilson. Mrs. Clark won from Miss BarnsGraham. Mrs. Rota won from Miss McCormick Mrs. Collinson won from Miss Helean. The second round resulted as follows: Miss Gaisford won from Mrs. Russell. Miss Currie won from Miss Grace. Miss Cook won from Mrs Clark. Mrs. Collinson won from Mrs. Rota. The semi-finals will commence at 9.30 this morning, Miss Gaisford playing Miss Currie at that time, while at 9.35 Mrs. Collinson and. Mrs Cook will tee off. The final will be played this afternoon. The N.ukuriro Handicap first and second rounds were played yesterday, the results being:— First Round— Miss Hurley won from Mrs. Duff. Mrs Mander won from Mrs. Brodie. Mrs. Earle won from Miss Bourke. Miss Blyth won from Mrs Richardson. Mrs. Woollams won from Miss Hatrick. Miss P. Bell won from Miss u McKenzie. Miss Openshaw won from Miss Collier. Mrs. Grace won from Miss B. Bell. Second Round — Miss Hurley won from, Mrs. Mander. Mrs. Earle won from Miss Blyth. Mrs. Woollams won from Miss Bell. Mrs. Grace won from Miss Openshaw. The semi-finals will be played this morning, Mrs. Earle playing Miss Hurley at 9.40 a.m. and Mrs. Woollams and Mrs. Grace teeing off at 9.45. Bogey Handicap results are:— A Grade: Mrs. Russell, all square. B Grade: Miss Helean, 2 up. Putting: Miss Montgomery Moore 19. Mrs. Robertshaw 20. Foursome results are:— Miss Barns-Grahaiu and Miss C. Wilson, 75. Mrs. Bristol and Mrs. Curtis, 80.
